Konkle Creek Realignment

In consultation with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA), two watercourse segments, Konkle Creek Tributaries 1B and 2A, that cross the property at 5205 King St Beamsville, were realigned as separate but adjacent open channels. Mapped floodplain associated with Konkle Creek Tributaries will be adjusted associated with the realignment. The realignment was designed to enhance aquatic and terrestrial ecological function of the watercourse and its riparian zone through natural channel design and restoration. The design also preserves and enhances the hydrologic function of the realigned channels.

The realignment allows for redevelopment of urban land and will contribute to policy goals and objectives that support intensification of underutilized sites within built up areas.
