Rehabilitation of the Drag River Bridge
The structural bridge rehabilitation consisted of staged construction minimizing traffic congestion. Temporary traffic signals, temporary concrete barrier, and end treatments were installed throughout the duration of construction maintaining one lane of live traffic. Structural removals included concrete barrier walls, concrete curbs, expansion joint assemblies, and ballast/wingwalls. Engineered structural jacking and temporary supports were utilized in the replacement of the bearings at the abutments. Full abutment and girder-end reconstruction was completed with engineered roadway protection, facilitating the semi-integral deck-end construction. Approach slabs, concrete curbs and concrete deck patches were completed. Guiderail and bridge rail connections were installed. Earthworks and grading completed prior to the paving operation.
